This time we didn't come up short...

But we did come up with shorts...or at least a grant to help finalize the development of them. Last week we received some funding to help bring our Tread Light Shorts and Dirt Skirt to the market.
As you might expect, we do not intend to put another bland pair of shorts on the market. And we are not just talking about offering shorts with the most recycled content on the market. This is where you all come in.
In the coming weeks, we will invite all of you super active people to apply to become part of the product development team.
If you are interested in this opportunity, make sure to fan us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to be notified when the application process goes live.
Monthly Enviro Tip

Spring has nearly sprung and many people are thinking about getting fitter and shedding the extra winter insulation. How about joining our friends at Athletes for a Fit Planet and take their
EcoPledge? While you are at it, check out their database of
green events to locate races that have committed to continually reduce their impact on the environment.
Get 'em while they're hot...

Okay, we know we don't sell bread, donuts, or muffins, but we think the design that you all selected for our cycling jersey is pretty hot! (Yes, we know that was super cheesy, but at least we got a good laugh while writing it.)
Anyway, the jersey is on the production lines and will be at Camp Atayne in just a couple weeks. Prior to launching to the general public, we are offering our newsletter, Facebook, and Twitter friends the opportunity to place a pre-order. Best part is, you will save $10 off the retail price of $85. If you would like to place a pre-order, email us at
sales@atayne.com. We will then send you the pre-order web page when it goes live. Or fan us on
Facebook or follow us on
Twitter to be notified when pre-orders start.
"You just won an Olympic Gold Medal, what are you going to do next?"

If you think the answer is, "I'm going to Disney World," you are wrong; at least if we are talking about snowboarder Hannah Teter. Hannah is moving into her parent's yurt in the woods. She plans to simplify her life and go off the grid by using solar and wind power.
Even better, this is not a stunt to try to get some attention. Throughout her career, the young athlete (23 years old) has consistently used her fame and exposure to help make a positive difference in the world. In 2008, she started a charity called
Hannah's Gold, which sells tasty Vermont Maple Syrup to raise money for schools and clean water projects in Kirindon, Kenya. On top of that, she donated all of her 2009 prize money to the Kirindon effort. She has also worked to raise money for Darfur and is a spokesperson for
Boarding for Breast Cancer.
We love the very simple words of Hannah, "I've always felt like there is a lot that needs to be done in the world, and who better to do it than me?"
Atayne at Play

If there is one thing that can be said about Atayners, it is that they work hard, play hard, and of course tread lightly. But that doesn't mean we don't leave an impact. Take Stefan R as an example. He sported his Atayne top while helping with relief efforts in Haiti. Stefan works for a satellite company that donated some equipment to help support the relief efforts.
It is estimated that initial relief efforts will cost $3 billion! And that does not include the billions more needed for reconstruction. Despite some successful fundraising campaigns, donations are starting to slow considerably.
We think now is a good time to step up and help reignite the giving. Through the end of April, we will donate 10% of all Grind T Performance Top and Trash T sales to the grassroots relief efforts of
Citizen Effect. On top of that, we will also give you free shipping. Make sure to use the code

In the News and on Our Fridge
It's a Little Known Fact
Congratulations to Rob B. who was one of the many that knew another way to get rid of the bacteria and stink in your workout gear is to stick it in the freezer for a day. Yes, we did try it, and it works!
Now for March's question: what is the best way to get a high intensity workout while trash running?
To join in the fun, email your answer to
adventure@atayne.com. To be entered into the drawing for the $25 gift certificate, your answer must be received by Wednesday, March 31.
